Gia Gorman-Kenagy
Not just a teen mom–but an undergraduate honors student studying for a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security, minoring in Pre-Law. Since starting my journey, I have taken advantage of many chances, and in return, I am the student and researcher I always desired to be!

Since earning my HiSET in October of 2024, I have gone on to achieve big accomplishments as a teen mother. While typically only 2% of teen mothers go back to college and get a degree by 30 I am proud to announce I am on that same track.
After enrolling into Dean College for their Spring 2025 semester, I have achieved within that time my spot in my respected institution’s honors program, as well as within the National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS) to take advantage of their training and networking advantages.
Outside of campus, I have been recognized as not only a Developing Scholar for the Global Association for Human Trafficking Scholars (GAHTS) but also as a Translational Workgroup Member. These two roles help fight against human trafficking through research, advocacy, and dissemination of new research to survivors and other experts. Currently, I am working on getting an IRB-approval for my research article on the criminal motives and factors for human trafficking. To better my writing, research, and reporting skills, I have taken on Yellowbrick.co’s NYU Modern Journalism Certificate Program and anticipate to finish before May 2026.

A Little More Personal
Who am I?
A woman who fights against injustice one step at a time–that is how I would describe myself now. A few years ago? It would not have been the same answer. Why does this matter, you may ask? The answer is that I fought hard for that change. For the shift to becoming the woman who researches, fights, and advocates against crime and human injustices–that should be societal standards today.
I am a mother, independent researcher, honors student, and human rights advocate – the list goes on. I have been recognized academically and in the real world as a jack-of-all-trades, which is rare in an individual today. This is a term I pride myself on, as I strive for quality work over quantity in every field I pursue.
What’s My Plan?
After achieving my B.A in criminal justice and homeland security minoring in pre-law, I am applying to law school or another graduate program related to the government, politics, or law. After graduate school, my intention is to work in the government in the homeland security department or pentagon with commitment to a future political career on the side.
My Inspirations
Virginia Giuffre–survivor-advocate, whistleblower, and one of the bravest women I have ever learned about.

A survivor of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s extremely corrupt sex trafficking scandal.
This woman fought and escaped this terrible situation no human should ever face–a child sex trafficking operation. I had never heard of a soul fight as hard as I found Virginia to. Coming forward was just another hurdle she had to face as well. Her bravery and resilience in the face of all the challenges that kept arising are admirable. Unfortunately, we lost Virginia Giuffre in April of 2025 due to suicide.
Her life will be remembered worldwide. Not because of what happened to her–but for what she stands for, what she worked for, and what she wanted to achieve.
Charlie Kirk – A Christian conservative activist patriot who lost his life speaking his beliefs, doing what he loved, spreading democracy and faith to the new generation.

“When people stop talking, really bad stuff starts. When marriages stop talking, divorce happens. When civilizations stop talking, civil war ensues.” – Charlie Kirk
Leaving behind a legacy at only thirty-one years of age, the world has been left with his commitment to his non-profit organization, Turning Point USA, at only eighteen. His open debate form campus tours was an inspiration to not only the young right, but also the left and center. Today, he has created a whole generation of those ready to fight for what they believe in.
